Mom Style Picks - Embracing Functional Fashion

Exploring fashion options that blend style with the practicality needed for chasing toddlers can be challenging. Each week, I'm sharing fresh picks designed to enhance your closet while maintaining the most essential thing of all: comfort. These picks will ensure you're prepared for whatever the day throws your way. This edition includes a new bra I’m buying, spring sweaters, and sweatpants.

For when you get in a cleaning mood …

I’m trying to incorporate these daily tasks into my routine with my toddler. I hope it reduces the overwhelming feeling of a “big clean” when things get out of control. Here are some daily tasks that can help maintain cleanliness and order:

  1. Quick Declutter Sessions: Spend a few minutes each morning and evening tidying up toys, books, and other items. Making this a routine that you involve your household in can significantly reduce clutter and save time in the long run.

  2. Wipe Down Surfaces: After meals and activities, quickly wipe down tables, counters, and high chairs to manage messes and spills.

  3. Laundry Management: Stay on top of laundry by doing a small load each day, if necessary, to prevent pile-ups. Encourage your toddler by starting the habit of putting their own dirty clothes in the hamper.

  4. Sweep and Spot Clean Floors: A quick sweep of high-traffic areas and spot cleaning of spills can keep floors in check and prevent sticky situations from spreading.

  5. Organize Toys: Implement a simple system for toys that makes it easy for your toddler to help with cleanup. Using labeled bins for different types of toys can make this task more manageable and fun for them.

  6. Sanitize Frequently Touched Surfaces: Regularly sanitize doorknobs, light switches, and other frequently touched surfaces to keep germs at bay.

  7. Evening Reset: Before bedtime, do a quick walkthrough of your home to reset for the next day. This might include straightening cushions, putting away any out-of-place items, and preparing areas for morning activities.

Take a Moment to Yourself.

Reading Suggestions:
What to watch:

🍭 Wonka - out to rent or buy. My husband and I watched this Friday night, and we both enjoyed it - he’s not a musical person but “didn’t mind” the amount of singing (it’s pretty minimal for a musical).

👗 The New Look on Apple TV. I'm an avid enthusiast of historical dramas, and any show that combines fashion, World War II, and Maisie Williams immediately captures my interest—earning it extra points in my book.

Griselda on Netflix. 100% yes, watch this; I loved it.

Now you’re ready to rock your week. I hope it’s filled with moments of joy in the mundane and lots of giggles from your littles.
